In Margitectures, things like warped metal, fractured walls, electrical boxes and graffiti take center stage. The subjects in Margitectures are unglamorous and usually lost in the visual noise of city life. They are neither landmarks nor ruins, but the in-between forms that dwell in the margins of attention and architecture. They are either not designed to be seen, or have evolved into something else. I’m interested in these structures because even though they’re expressing decay, ruin or temperament, they are much more indissoluble and aged than the human body. Each painting is titled with the coordinates I found them at.
